Dictionary Poet (Emilea Wright)

Dictionary Poet

Effloresces. Like

unknowingly admitting with no cause.

It just pops out for the world

to stare at.

Effervescent. Like

The fight you just had. It bubbles

up and then boils forward. You didn’t mean

to reveal all.

Arcane. Like

What is whispered through doors, sheets. Whispered

and remembered, kept in his breast pocket,

just in case.

Candor. Like

a fresh tablecloth or towel. The intimate

tension between you both that can never

be stained.
